Neshoba County got some storm damage Wednesday.  In Philadelphia, trees fell on a house as severe weather moved through the area and local emergency management reported numerous trees down across the southern part of the county.  A tree was blown down along County Road 218, and some tin was blown off a parking canopy.

This made three straight days that storm damage has been reported in the local area.    In Attala County Tuesday, trees were blown down on Highway 12 West in Kosciusko, on County Road 5131 and on Highway 429 in Sallis.  In Leake County, several trees were knocked down just to the west and north of Carthage and on the Natchez Trace near mile marker 136.  The National Weather Service says the severe thunderstorm responsible for the damage may have been packing winds up to 70 miles an hour.

That storm came on the heels of Monday night’s severe weather which caused some problems in Holmes County.  Emergency Management Director Gyrone Granderson says metal roofing was ripped off a home in the Mileston community south of Tchula but the people living there escaped injury.  Monday night’s storm also blew down some trees in Holmes County.
