SHARE NOW

Wendy Hood has been charged with two counts of child neglect following an incident on Friday, Oct. 4, when two young children wandered away from Wee Kids Daycare on Hwy 35 North.

The children were safely removed from the highway before any harm occurred.

Hood, who owns the daycare center, turned herself in to the Kosciusko Police Department on Tuesday and is now out on bond.

People should have to go thru a theral background check, and definitely a ncic check – which is a check of your fast and present all over usa,to see if u got any warrants and so forth, but I really think that the daycare owner should most definitely loose her licenses.

Well before we go to the extent of hoping she loses her license, we should have all the details first as to what really happened. Yes this was a scary situation but it bypassed tragedy. We all stumble at times . Even in our own occupations we make mistakes & sometimes critical enough to potentially cause tragedy. I’m pretty sure you have driven at fault that could have potentially caused a tragedy. We all have @ times ! Being thankful that tragedy was avoided & wishing this woman could learn & make the proper corrections to avoid situations as these should be our 1st thought unless there’s a history of neglect. We all need jobs , & non of us are perfect . Restoration before Destruction..🙏🏿🙏🏿‼️

This lady has loss many sleepless nights because of this incident and they have put in new systems so lay off her. A lot of you and I have made mistakes. She or her workers would never put any child in danger . So please keep your comments with dignity

I don’t think she should lose her license, she is like any of the rest of us we make mistakes and all we can do is strive to make sure it never happens again and thank God the children are ok

Any questions as to whether not this was just a simple mistake needs to go to the DHS website and search the name of the daycare. Read the results of the last 3 inspections AND the status of the daycares license.

I personally know people that worked for her at this day care and were never paid. I would never let my kids into that place. Have some standards and some ethics.

Way I hear it was an employee that caused this . But owner is held responsible, and if she wasn’t such a nice person if she was like some on here would be blasting this persons name all over this . As far what I heard a lot of the recent inspections.they were done soon as place opened ,you know like when u go to work .and people don’t show up bosses scrambling to get replacements in happens all over town .lot them don’t even notify till after they’re shifts start .as far as inspections this daycare was never had major issues in the past up till the new inspector started which mentioned daycare’s size as to small and all daycares should be like all the ones that carry huge govt funds and grants kinda like ones there pushing to come in now check and see . This is the beginning of them pushing out the independent daycares . They will overinspect ,fine , hara** till there all gone . I’ve also know for a fact this lady has helped so many she’s let people owe her lot of money because of sob stories that soon as they get caught up they would pay . Most that does very seldom paid her .saw her lose her home during divorce rather than shutdown the daycare . 17 yrs she’s kept it open .you have people in this town .thats she’s had to fire in the past .that will I’m sure try make it look bad .got parents that she has helped way beyond what most people would do .the only real thing she’s guilty of is believing that most people are good and trustworthy.and loving these kids like they were her own . Personally I pray everything goes well for her . But if it doesn’t reopen .maybe she won’t be out working from 4am-to 10 pm sometimes with this place . Having to pour money into this place to keep it going and won’t have all the headaches I’ve heard she’s had trying keep this place going and keeping good help .

One other thing if this lady has helped u in any kind of way and never asking anything in return.and that is a bunches around this town or kids that are grown now . Show her you appreciated the help or care or love she showed you people like her are rare is this world . Most now don’t care about nothing but they’re selves

They(wlbt i think) tried to interview a couple of my close family members about the incident on camera and they refused! Mistakes happen and she, the children, and the parents are in my prayers.
