A man drowned at Youth Center Lake Wednesday, June 11th. Mr. Kermit Campbell, 84, of Attala was pronounced dead at the scene according to Attala County Coroner Sam Bell.
According to the Attala County Sheriff’s Office, the individual was in his boat alone on the lake.
A witness reported hearing a commotion and later noticed items floating in the water and Campbell missing from his boat.
Local agencies, including the Attala County Sheriff’s Office, Attala Fire Department, EMS, and the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP), worked this incident.
