At 4:03 pm Kosciusko Police, MedStat EMS and City Fire were dispatched to the 500 block of Moore Street. Emergency personnel were dispatched for a “male stuck in a tree with a power saw”.
Captain Jake Cummins with the Kosciusko Fire Department tells Breezy News that when they arrived on scene they found a male approximately 20 feet off the ground pinned in the tree.
Cummins said that the unidentified male, wearing safety harness, was cutting limbs from the tree when one fell back pinning his forearm tightly to the tree.
Emergency crews called for Kosciusko Water and Light to assist using their bucket truck. KWL along with City Fire using extension ladders used the jaws of life to pry the large limb and after an hour were able to free the trapped worker.
Medics bandaged the arm while still in the tree before transporting the patient to Baptist-Attala for medical treatment.
