At 1:37 pm Attala deputies were conducting a safety checkpoint on highway 12 east near the county line. Officers observed a vehicle turn around to attempt to avoid the roadblock. When deputies started the pursuit, the driver pulled behind a store and exited the vehicle fleeing on foot from the deputies. Officer were able to locate a drivers license in the auto and called for a wrecker to tow the auto.
At 10:03 pm Kosciusko Police were called to Wal-Mart for a report of a shoplifter
