An Ethel High School powerlifter set records at the MHSAA Powerlifting championships this weekend.
Sophomore Kendarious Payton brought home the title 2025 Super 12 lifter, which means he was the best 123lb lifter across all classifications (1A-7A).
Additionally, Payton is the State Champion and record holder in the 1A 123lb weight division with 460lbs deadlift, whiche broke a 40-year record set last year by 40lbs.
Payton’s overall total lift of 995lbs also broke a previous record by 25lbs.
