Ethel softball’s Tyler McKinley has been hired as the new head coach at Starkville High School.
The hire was approved this week by the Starkville Oktibbeha County Consolidated School District, according to Robbie Faulk of the Starkville Daily News,
A native of Attala County, McKinley has been Ethel’s head softball coach since 2017.
During his tenure, he has over 90 wins, including an impressive 39-4 record in district games, and four district titles.
“The kids at Ethel are hard-working kids and they buy into what you want to do,” told Faulk. “There have never been superstars, just nine hard-working girls that want to do whatever they can to help the team. We’re young this year with just one senior and it’s starting to come together for us.”
McKinley will finish out the current year with the Tigers before taking over duties at Starkville.
