Fatal Mobile Home Fire in Attala Claims Life of a Child

A fire in the early hours of Thursday morning has claimed the life of a child in the Sallis area of Attala County.

According to officials, the Attala County Fire Department, Attala County Sheriff’s Office, and EMS were dispatched to a mobile home fire on Attala Road 4151 at approximately 1:11 a.m. on February 20, 2025.

Upon arrival, responders found the home fully engulfed in flames, with reports of a female child trapped inside.

Despite efforts from first responders, the fire had consumed the home, making rescue attempts impossible.

Attala County Coroner Sam Bell confirmed that what appears to be the remains of a child were recovered from the scene. The remains will be sent to the state crime lab for DNA confirmation.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The State Fire Marshal’s Office is assisting local authorities in determining what led to the deadly blaze.

      Yes I do believe. I believe if bringing awareness to it results in saving another family having to bury their child then it needs brought up.

      You’re welcome, but it’s has absolutely nothing to do with judging. It has to do with preventing this from ever happening again. As I commented “most” of the time it can be prevented.

    We are so so sorry to hear of this sad news…this family also lost a daughter previously in a car accident… to the Triplett/Allen families we love you all and are praying for all of the families connected to this precious little girl…Also her teachers and schoolmates…🙏🏾❤️

    My heart is hurting so badly for this family! We just lost ours Saturday night. I can’t phantom loosing a child! A nightmare you’ll never be able to wake up from. My condolences to this family and I will be praying earnestly for them! 🙏🌸
