Fight near Post Office sends one to hospital

A fight near the Attala County Post Office sent one man to the hospital.

The incident happened around 5:30 pm Wednesday, Feb. 26.

Officers with the Kosciusko Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Veterans Memorial Drive and E Jefferson Street where a white male was reported to be lying in the road after a fight.

According to Chief of Police Greg Collins, the altercation began outside of Kangaroo Crossing. The parties involved then got into their vehicles to leave, but continued to argue when stopping beside each other at a traffic light.

At one point during the fight, the suspect left his vehicle and struck the victim in the head with a weapon.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Collins said no arrests have been made at the time of this report, but charges are expected to filed soon.

    wasn’t a fight it was two swings the guy that got hit swung first (although the one who hit him got out his truck first ) and missed the other guy swung connected knocked him out n walked off tbh there was no weapon at all 🤷🏾‍♂️
