Firefighters Respond to Multiple Incidents Monday in Attala

On Monday, firefighters in Kosciusko and Attala were kept busy with a series of incidents across the area.

Just before 2 p.m., the Attala County Fire Department, along with Sallis volunteers, responded to a woods fire on Highway 12 near Boyette Road in the Sallis area. Crews worked quickly to bring the blaze under control and extinguish it.

Less than an hour later, the Kosciusko Fire Department was dispatched to a potential structure fire on East Adams Street. Upon arrival, firefighters found a home filled with smoke, which was traced to a faulty lamp. The situation was resolved, and the house was ventilated.

Later that evening, the Attala Central Fire Department responded to another woods fire on Attala Road 1150 near the intersection with Attala Road 1175 in the Williamsville area. The fire was determined to be a controlled burn.

No injuries were reported in any of these incidents.
