A significant jump in the number of flu cases in Mississippi. The latest update shows the statewide flu rate has climbed to 9.7 per cent, up from eight per cent the previous week. That’s the percentage of patients seeing their doctor who are complaining of flu-like symptoms. And it’s among the highest flu rates in the country. Flu activity in the public health district which includes Attala and Holmes counties has now reached 36 per cent. But there’s good news regarding the health district which includes Leake and Neshoba counties, where the flu rate has fallen to ten per cent, down from 17 per cent the previous week.
