Former Whippet to play for community college national championship

A former Kosciusko Whippet will play this week for a community college national championship.

Lee Wade will travel with East Mississippi Community College to Little Rock, AR to face Iowa Western CC in the 2023 NJCAA Division I Football Championship.

The game will be played Wednesday, Dec. 13 with kickoff set for 7:00 pm.

After starting the 2023 season a wide receiver, Wade, a December 2022 KHS graduate, made the transition to running back for the Lions.

Statistically for the 2023 season, Wade has 44 carries for 148 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Wednesday’s game will be be televised nationally on ESPNU with the radio broadcast being carried locally on WFCA 107.9.
