It may be easy to forget how much we were paying for gas in Mississippi just a few months ago. It was averaging over three bucks a gallon in July. But it’s been on a downhill slide ever since. AAA says the average price statewide that we’ve been seeing this month, just under $2.60, marks a three and a half year low. And even though the auto club average is more than 40 cents less than what gas cost back in the summer, GasBuddy.com says drivers can do a lot better in parts of the local area with prices as low as $2.37 in Carthage and $2.49 in Philadelphia.
