A couple of musicians, a folklorist, a novelist and a poet will be inducted into the Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience Hall of Fame in Meridian next week.  The new members include Bobbie Gentry and Mac McAnally along with Bill Ferris, Shelby Foote and Natasha Trethewey.   And preceding the Hall of Fame ceremony on Jan. 23, Gentry, Ferris, Foote and Trethewey will also get stars on The MAX’s Walk of Fame along with longtime Hall of Fame consultant Marty Gamblin, who died recently.  McAnally already has a star.

The honorees are all from Mississippi, with Gentry hailing from Chickasaw County while McAnally grew up in Belmont, Ferris is a Vicksburg native, Foote is from Greenville and Trethewey was born in Gulfport.

The Hall of Fame ceremony at the MSU Riley Center is free and open to the public.
