Country music superstar Hardy has announced that his scheduled concert Thursday, Sept. 12 at Mississippi State Baseball’s Dudy Noble Field is being delayed to Friday, Sept. 13 due to Hurricane Francine.
The Nehsoba County native made the announcement Tuesday afternoon across his social media platforms.
“The last thing that I want is to get halfway through a show and then the show get canceled and then nobody gets to the whole show,” Hardy said in the social media video. “But we know for a fact that the weather will be okay the following day on Friday so that’s when we’re going to do it.”
Hurricane Francine is expected to impact much of the state of Mississippi with heavy rain and strong winds Wednesday afternoon through Thursday night, with the forecast clearing for Friday night and into the weekend.
“If there’s any silver lining, September 13th is my birthday, so the show is now on my birthday and I am excited about that,” said Hardy.
Also performing at the concert will be Hardy’s fellow Mississippi native Randy Houser and Travis Denning.
Hardy has written some of the biggest songs in country music over the past few years.
Some of his hits include Morgan Wallen’s current single “Sand in my Boots,” Blake Shelton’s “God’s Country” and Florida-Georgia Line’s “Simple.”
