After a lot of uncertainty over whether there was going to be juco ball at all, the season finally kicked off Thursday night for local fans when the Holmes Bulldogs traveled to Booneville to play the Tigers of North East.

Unfortunately, the Bulldogs couldn’t get much traction against their foes.  Only scoring a field goal in the second quarter and a touchdown in the fourth, Holmes lost to Northeast with a final score of 35-10.

Brandon Cross was named the Player of the Game.

Next week, the Holmes Bulldogs hosts Itawamba Community College in their first home game in this abbreviated season.  Join us here on Breezy 101, on breezynews.com, or the Breezy News app at 6PM on Thursday.
