Updated: Home lost in fire in Attala County Thursday evening

Update:

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.  The second home to catch on fire was not a total loss.  According to Attala County Fire Chief, Tim Cox the firefighters were able to save about half of the home.


At least one home on Attala Rd. 4216 near Attala Rd. 3055 was lost in a fire this evening.

Attala County Fire Department and volunteer firefighters were dispatched to the home at 4:35 p.m. where they found it completely engulfed in flames.

Another home behind the residence also caught on fire.

Firefighters are currently working to extinguish the fires.  We will update with more information when it is available.
