K-9 Deputy Recovers Meth at Checkpoint

The Attala County Sheriff’s Office reports that during a safety checkpoint on Monday, March 10, K-9 Deputy Lucas Smith recovered 5 grams of methamphetamine.

The driver of the vehicle the drugs were recovered from, Erin McCarty of Carmack, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

McCarty was booked into the Leake County Correctional Facility with a $10,000 bond.

    Did the K-9 help? What is his name or did the deputy discover it without his help. Good job all around. Glad to get this stuff off the streets.
