The Kosciusko Board of Aldermen held first meeting of July Tuesday night.
Topics covered during the meeting were:
- Street Closure was approved for First Baptist on N. Jackson Street for Family & Friend Day from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm July 19.
- The board approved the hires of Erica Brantley Barnes (full time) and Adam Greer (part time)
- The board approved appointed Katherine Ellard to the Historical Commission.
- The board assessed fees to a property owner for a demolition and clean up of a property on W. South Street.
- Payment to Galen Shumaker was approved.
- The board approved the election results and the oaths of elected officials.
- The board voted to reappoint all municipal officers.
- The board approved Mayor Pro Tem the authority to give oaths
- The board reappointed all current department heads to their positions.
- The board approved bond renewals for mayor, aldermen, clerks, police chief and building official
- Ward 4 Alderman Jeffery Woods was reappointed as Mayor Pro Tem
- Mayor Tim Kyle and Alderman Jeffery Woods were appointed as delegate and alternate, respectively, for the Mississippi Municipal League.
