Kosciusko aldermen hold May 20 meeting

The Kosciusko Board of Aldermen held its second meeting of May Tuesday night.

Topics covered during the meeting were:

  • The board continued to discuss what to do with the red train car located on Washington Street. Mayor Tim Kyle stated he had crane companies coming this week to determine if it could be moved.
  • The board passed a resolution honoring Parks and Recreation Director Todd Ables on his retirement.
  • The board passed approved Wild Ice to set up at an event in Jason Niles Park June 29.
  • The board accepted a resignation and approved two new hires.
  • The board approved payment to Central MS Communications for the new weather sirens that were recently installed in the city.
  • The board approved bids for work on the basketball courts at Northside and Aponaug Parks. An ad was also approved for the upcoming site prep work for pickleball courts at Jason Niles Park.
  • The board approve City Clerk Michelle Quesnot to submit an application to serve as a trustee on the Mississippi Municipal Clerk Association Executive Board.
