Kosciusko Junior High named one of US News and Reports’ Best Middle Schools


In a proud moment for the tight-knit community of Kosciusko, Kosciusko Junior High School (KJHS) has been recognized as one of the Best Middle Schools of 2024 by US News and Reports. The annual report, widely regarded as a benchmark for educational excellence, evaluates schools across the nation and places them based on a comprehensive set of metrics. KJHS emerged as a standout, securing its place among the top middle schools in the state.

Dr. Zach Bost, Superintendent of Kosciusko School District, expressed his elation at the achievement, stating, “This is a tremendous honor for our team at Kosciusko Junior High School, our community, and our future.” Logan Cheek, the former principal at KJHS (current principal at KUE), added that this accomplish was “the culmination of determination, hard work, and the unwavering belief (in) putting students first.”

Dr. Sara Williams, former assistant principal at KJHS, shared her thoughts on the achievement, stating, “I cannot speak enough about the family that is KJHS… What an honor to be acknowledged for this amazing accomplishment! In my opinion, KJHS has always been one of the best middle schools. Working alongside such incredible teachers, staff, and students was one of the highlights of my career thus far. I am extremely proud to be able to say that I was one small piece of the puzzle on their journey to greatness.”

Eli Dew, the current principal at KJHS and former assistant principal, praised the hard work and dedication of the staff and students, stating, “Our wonderful staff and students will get every bit of credit for this accomplishment. I know Mr. Cheek, Dr. Williams, and myself are so happy that this staff is being recognized for all they do for their students each day.”

The recognition of Kosciusko Junior High School as one of the Best Middle Schools of 2024 is a source of pride for the entire community, affirming the school’s commitment to educational excellence and student success.
