Kosciusko Police Department Issues Warning About Scam

SHARE NOW

The Kosciusko Police Department (KPD) has issued a warning to the public regarding a recent scam targeting community members. According to KPD officials, scammers are contacting individuals and falsely claiming to represent the police department.

The scam involves informing victims that they have missed a court date and that a warrant has been issued for their arrest. In an attempt to resolve the supposed warrant, the scammers then request that the victims purchase gift cards and send them the codes.

Authorities stress that this is not how the Kosciusko Police Department operates, and they want the public to be aware of this fraudulent activity. They advise individuals to be cautious when receiving unexpected calls or messages claiming to be from law enforcement agencies and to verify the legitimacy of such communications before taking any action.
