Kosciusko Rotary Club Honors Community Members

The Kosciusko Rotary Club held its Centennial celebration Saturday evening at The Carousel House. The motto for Rotary International is “Service about self.”  The Kosciusko Rotary Club selected four community members to receive the “Service Above Self” award.  Those honored were as follows:

Dr. Tim Alford has spearheaded the development of the Skipworth Performing Arts Center.  He has been the driving force behind fundraisings, design, and performance line up.

Mr. Hollis Cheek has worked countless hours to preserve the legacy of LV Hull and her art by initiating the LV Hull Museum and Studio.  Located on South Huntington Street in Kosciusko, this museum and studio is currently under construction and will be an asset to our community.

Mr. Stephen Franks has logged over 200,000 miles flying critically ill patients to and from treatment.  He flies for Pilots for Patients, Angel Flight Soars, and Shiners Hospital donating his time and his plane.

Mrs. Teresa Trussell has spent her teaching career encouraging students to strive for their dreams.  She currently serves as a career coach for Kosciusko School District where she and her husband, Tommy, work with students to find a career field that fit their strengths and interest.

In addition, President Andrew Frank past the gavel to incoming President Melissa Boswell Townsend.  They also recognized past presidents in attendance Johnny Boswell, Michelle Nicholson, Dr. Larry Routt, and Curtis Turnbo.
