Attala Communications issued an alert regarding the theft of a white Ford truck from Baptist Hospital Attala on Friday evening.
Attala Deputies pursued the vehicle and made contact in the McAdams area. The chase didn’t reach high speeds, most likely due to inclement weather.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol joined the pursuit near Sallis and assumed the lead in Holmes County.
Utilizing stop sticks, MHP successfully deflated two tires on the fleeing vehicle. The truck then veered and and came to a halt in a muddy area off of the roadway.
Madelyn Coleman, 18 of Kosciusko, was identified as the driver of the stolen vehicle and was apprehended by the Attala County Sheriff’s Office without incident.
Coleman was transported to the Kosciusko Police Department and charged with felony theft of a motor vehicle.
Attala County Sheriff, Curtis Pope, tells Breezy News, “Fortunately, there were no injuries reported during the incident, and the stolen vehicle has since been returned to its rightful owner.”
