Kosciusko woman killed in Neshoba County wreck

A Kosciusko woman was killed in a wreck yesterday in Neshoba County.

Sgt. Andy West with Mississippi Highway Patrol said 73-year-old Ernestine Burnside was pronounced dead after the vehicle she was in collided with a log truck near Pearl River Resort.

The accident happened around 2:30 Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 16 and Willis road in Choctaw.

The log truck tipped over and spilled its logs on the highway.

The drive of the truck, 41-year-old Reid Simpson of Macon, was suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
