The Kosciusko Lady Whippet softball team is headed to the North State Championship series for the fourth year in a row.
After losing game two 5-2, the Lady Whippets defeated Tishomingo County in 7-3 in game three Tuesday night to clinch the series.
The team will move on to face Pontotoc in the North State Championship Series.
Game one will be played in Pototoc Friday at 6:00 pm. Games two and three (if needed) will be in Kosciusko Monday night beginning at 5:00 pm.

The Lady Whippets face off against the Lady Braves in Game Two of playoff action. The Lady Braves scored one run on two hits giving them the early lead (0-1). The Lady Whippets went three up and three down in the bottom of the first inning. The Lady Braves and Whippets were scoreless in the second inning. The Lady Braves scored two runs on two hits in the third inning making the score (0-3). The Lady whippets were scoreless in the bottom of the third inning. The Lady Braves further the lead in the top of the fourth with two runs on three hits making the score (0-5). The Lady Whippets were held scoreless in the fourth inning. The Lady were held scoreless in the top of the fifth inning. The Lady Whippets make a first appearance on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fifth making the score (2-5). The Lady Whippets and the Braves were held scoreless in the sixth inning. The Lady Braves took the victory in game two with the score being (2-5).
The Lady Whippets and Braves play game three in playoff. The Lady braves went scoreless in the top of the first inning. The Lady Whippets took the lead in the bottom of the first with one run on one hit (1-0). The Lady Braves and Lady Whippets went three up and three down in the second inning. The Lady Braves went three up and three down in the top of the third. The Lady whippets stretched the lead with one run on two hits making the score (2-0). The Lady Braves and Whippets were scoreless in the fourth inning. The Lady Braves cut the lead in half with one run on one hit making the score (2-1). The Whippets answered back with four runs on three hits making the score (6-1). The Lady Braves were held scoreless in the top of the sixth inning (6-1). The Lady Whippets scored one run on one hit in the bottom of the sixth making the score (7-1). The Lady Braves attempted to come back in the top of the seventh with two runs, but it wasn’t enough resulting in giving the Lady Whippets the victory (7-3) and advancement to the next round of playoff action.
