Two local athletes have earned Player of the Week honors from the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC).
Kosciusko native Caden Greer was named the conference’s Football Offensive Player of the Work for his performance in the Northeast Mississippi CC win over Southwest Mississippi last week.
The official release from the conference reads:
“Caden Greer led a 28-point fourth quarter comeback for the Tigers in his first career collegiate start. He went 11 of 19 through the air for 215 yards with 3 touchdowns to lead Northeast to a 49-30 win over Southwest. He also added 16 rushing yards on 6 carries. Greer had touchdown passes of 79, 6 and 50 yards.”
The honor for the MACCC’s Football Defensive player of the week went to Lexington native Dandreyus Giles and his performance helping the Holmes CC Bulldogs upset #9 Copiah-Lincoln 15-13 last Thursday.
The official release from the conference on Giles reads:
“Giles picked up 10 tackles (7 solos) and had INT return for a 30 yard touchdown. This is his second INT for a TD and third on the season.”
