Local teen serves as page in MS Legislature

A teenager from Kosciusko recently served as a page for the Mississippi House of Representatives.

Kosciusko native Cameron Skinner, 17,  served as a page for District 48 Rep. Jason White during the week of Feb. 25 – March 1.

Skinner is a junior at Kosciusko High School and serves on the Mayor’s Youth Council.

“Cameron is, and has been, an outstanding member of the Mayors Youth Council and I’m glad he got to experience this with Representative White,” said Kosciusko Mayor Jimmy Cockroft.

Being a page for the MS Legislature teaches students the legislative process. Tasks for pages vary, but can include presenting the flag, preparing the chamber floor for sessions, and distributing legislation and papers.
