On Sunday, May 11, 2025, at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to
a single-vehicle fatal crash on Highway 12 in Holmes County.
A 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche driven by 25-year-old Lemarcus Fleming of Louisville, Mississippi,
traveled east on Highway 12 when it left the highway and collided with a tree. Passengers Jaylon
Haynes, 18-year-old of Louisville, Mississippi, and Maurice Fleming, 25-year-old of Sallis,
Mississippi, were treated at a local hospital for injuries sustained from the crash. Passenger
Carmelo Williams, a 17-year-old of Louisville, Mississippi, received fatal injuries from the crash and
was pronounced dead on the scene.
This crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
