Kosciusko Police arrested a man Tuesday morning after responding to reports of gunfire at Hammond Circle Apartments.
Officers were dispatched around 8:35 a.m. and quickly took 34-year-old Vernon Melton of Kosciusko into custody.
Police recovered a firearm and nine shell casings at the scene. The investigation revealed that Melton had fired into two occupied apartments. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Melton is charged with two counts of shooting into a dwelling and one count of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. His bond was set at $300,000.
