A domestic disturbance between a mother and son prompted a response from Attala County Deputies and the Attala County Fire Department Tuesday morning just after 9:30.
Deputies were initially dispatched to the scene, but firefighters were also called after the male involved reportedly set a mattress on fire inside the home. Fortunately, the fire went out itself before causing further damage.
The male suspect fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. No injuries have been reported. The incident remains under investigation.
