McCool man dead following wreck in Rankin County

A McCool man is dead and three others are injured following a wreck Thursday morning in Rankin County.

According to a press release from the Mississippi Highway Patrol. the wreck happened around 8:35 am on Hwy 25 near Sandhill Road.

A 2016 Ford Explorer, being driven by 65-year-old Mary Robertson of Eupora, was traveling south when it ran off the road and collided with a tree.

One of the passengers, 70-year-old James Talley of McCool, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Robertson and two other passengers were taken to University of Mississippi Medical Center.

    Is this James Talley work at the sawmill on Hwy 12 in Ackerman. Maybe retired from there?

    My heart goes out to his family, my family. So sorry for the last. Such a sweet and kind man. I enjoyed the conversation we use to have and he will be greatly missed.
