Missing Leake County Man Found Dead in Abandoned Home

Isaiah Mondy, a 23-year-old man reported missing in March, was found dead on Sunday, May 25, inside an abandoned home at the dead end of Post Road near Thomastown.

Mondy was last seen leaving his residence in the Thomastown community on March 20. He was officially reported missing five days later on March 25.

According to the Leake County Sheriff’s Office, his body was discovered in the kitchen by individuals planning to renovate the house for family gatherings.

A family member stated that the clothing on the body was the same clothing Isaiah Mondy was last seen wearing.

A spent .22 caliber shell casing and a .22 caliber revolver were found at the scene, the latter located beneath Mondy’s body.

The cause of death is under investigation.
