Mississippi public schools closed through April 17

Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves has announced that all public schools in Mississippi will close through April 17.

Reeves made the announcement during a Facebook live broadcast Thursday morning.

The governor also said he would be suspending end-of-year testing.

Schools will also continue to receive funding and teachers will continue to be paid their salary.
