Mississippi’s state forester has resigned following an arrest for DUI.

Local news outlets report that Charlie Morgan resigned Monday.

Forestry commissioners have named Assistant State Forester Russell Bozeman as the interim state forester.

The commission didn’t immediately announce how it will select a permanent replacement.

An arrest report from the Attala County Sheriff’s Office shows that Morgan was arrested on DUI charges Wednesday, Oct. 17 while driving his personal vehicle.

He was later released. (AP)
