Early this morning, the Attala County Fire Department along with volunteers responded to a mobile home fire on Drake Street in Ethel.
The fire, which appears to have began in the laundry room, caused significant damage to both the laundry room and bathroom areas.
Fortunately, no one was home at the time, and no injuries were reported.
Attala County Fire Chief Tim Cox indicated that the fire may have originated from a laundry room appliance, although the exact cause is still under investigation.
Residents are reminded to regularly clean dryer lint traps and avoid leaving appliances running unattended.
