Multiple Crashes = Busy Monday for Attala First Responders

Attala County first responders worked multiple wrecks Monday evening.

Just before 6 p.m., a hit-and-run occurred on Hwy 43 S near Sanders Rd. A truck struck the vehicle of someone checking their mailbox, then hit other mailboxes, before leaving the scene.

At 9:15 p.m., deputies, Attala Central Fire Department, and EMS were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on the bypass near the intersection of Hwy 43 S. One individual was transported to a Jackson hospital for their injuries.

Shortly after, deputies responded to a crash on Hwy 12 near Sallis where a vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported in this incident.
