TUPELO, Miss. – The National Park Service has released a series of videos encouraging travelers to “Drive safe, the park way.” The three-part series will prepare travelers to experience the parkway safely throughout the year.
The videos capture separate messages designed to prepare visitors and local commuters for a safer driving experience on the 444-mile Natchez Trace Parkway.
“We are asking community members and park visitors to ‘Drive safe, the park way,’ which includes being mindful of speed limits, bicyclists, and work zones; and having situational awareness” said Zone Safety Manager, Myranda Spear.
The videos are being launched in anticipation of the busy holiday travel season and each video covers a different perspective from parkway employees.
“The Natchez Trace Parkway is a national park for everyone,” said Superintendent, Douglas Neighbor. “By sharing these videos, our goal is to build a safer culture for everyone who drives and works on the parkway.”
