An armed robbery suspect is on the run after holding up the Pow Wow gas station on Highway 16 West in Neshoba County near the Pearl River Resort.

“Video footage shows a male subject wearing black pants, black shoes and a red hoodie, coming around the side of the building entering the building with a handgun,” says Chief Deputy Kevin Baysinger.

Baysinger says the suspect pulled a gun on the store employees and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. Surveillance footage shows how frightening the situation was for the employees.

“We do not have any leads at this point. We’re asking the good citizens of Neshoba County to help us in any way they can,” says Baysinger.

Baysinger says the suspect also used a mask to conceal his face.

He says the public has no reason to feel unsafe, but he encourages everyone to stay alert and to always pay attention to their surroundings.

“I would just encourage the citizens to be very vigilant of their surroundings- be aware. At this time, that we live in now, there’s no telling what people are doing. But I just encourage everyone to be vigilant and protect their selves.”

Baysinger says there is no reason to believe this incident is connected to any of the recent robberies or thefts in the Philadelphia area.
