Two officers with the Choctaw Police Department and a Neshoba County deputy have joined an FBI task force aimed at protecting tribal members and investigating violent crime and drug trafficking in Choctaw communities. The Mississippi Safe Trails task force, established more than two years ago, also includes the Neshoba, Leake and Jones County sheriff’s departments and Carthage police and works alongside other law enforcement agencies including DEA and ATF. Robert York and Jacob Waiter are the two Choctaw officers who are now members of the task force. The other new member is Neshoba Deputy Mark Flake.
