Photo: Porter honored for 50 years with Daughters of American Revolution


On Thursday, March 14, during a luncheon held at Jason’s Southern Table, Samuel Hammond Chapter member, Anne Porter, was presented with her 50 year membership pin by MSSDAR State Organizing Secretary, Michele Lee.

During her 50 years of service in The Daughters of the American Revolution, Porter has served as Chapter Regent twice, Chapter Treasurer, Chapter Chaplain, and several other positions.

She has served on the Rosalie Board twice and was selected as MSSDAR 2019 Daughter of the Year.

Mrs. Porter also held the position of Hills District Director and is the author of “THE HISTORY OF THE MISSISSIPPI STATE SOCIETY DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION, 1896-1996”

She has also served on the State Board of Management as Librarian, Historian, and First Vice Regent.

Mrs Porter was also the Organizing President of Cameo Society with over 500 charter members.
