The Kosciusko Whippets softball team dedicated its Tuesday night game to the memory of Ann Harper Richardson, a local child who tragically passed away Saturday, March 8 after being struck by a vehicle near her home.
During the game, the players wore lavender ribbons in Richardson’s honor. Simply Created, owned by Misty Black Sims, donated to make this possible.
In the game, the Lady Whippets defeated Houston 12-2.
The Lady Whippets offensivley were led by Mary Kimble Price, Makynlee Dickerson, GracieKate Burrell, Ally Moore, and Lindsey Blaine.
Price, Burrell, and Blaine all had home runs, while Dickerson and Moore both had two-run doubles.
In the circle for the Lady Whippets, Price went the distance, pitching five innings, allowing six hits, two runs with five strikeouts.
The Lady Whippets will travel to Houston Thursday, March 20 for game two of the division series.
