Demolition has started on the interior of the Strand Theater in downtown Kosciusko.
Both The Strand, and the building next door that formerly housed the offices of The Star-Herald, are set to be the future home of the Mississippi Museum of the American Indian.

March 1, 2023 at 5:36 PMToo bad…the obvious Museum location in Kosciusko is the Courthouse.

March 3, 2023 at 9:45 AMI agree. A courthouse should be just that and not a museum. I often thought the Strand would make a good performance venue if renovated, but now that Kosciusko has the Skipworth, I think the museum is going to be a great addition to Kosciusko. I’m also happy that the Strand is being renovated and not torn down!

March 3, 2023 at 1:54 PMGood to know. I know the museum is for Mississippi Indian art; however, I hope they have an a small area for companion pieces. I have collected Oklahoma Indian art for years and would glad to donate pieces.
