Presbyterian Day School students advance to MAIS State Reading Fair

Students from Presbyterian Day School recently participated in the MAIS District Reading Fair held in Greenwood at Pillow Academy.

Eleanor Higgins, Barbara Withers and Jack Richardson placed in the District Fair and will advance to the State Fair.

Eleanor Higgins, 4th grade, placed 2nd in the fiction category, Barbara Withers, 5th grade,  placed 1st in the fiction category, and Jack Richardson, 5th grade, placed 1st in the non-fiction category.

Jack Richardson also won Best Portrayal of a Character.

Other students to place in the Fair were Harper Griffin, 4th grade, 3rd place fiction, Parker Richardson, 4th grade, Best Portrayal of a character, non-fiction, Laney Rea, 5th grade, Best Portrayal of a Character fiction and Benten Breazeale, 6th grade, Best Portrayal of a Character.

Kristi McElwain is the 4th – 6th grade reading teacher at PDS.

The State Fair will be held March 27 at the Muse Center in Pearl, MS.
