Update: Shooting suspects arrested in Choctaw County


Update: According to Kosciusko Chief of Police Herbert Dew, both Antonio Winters and Styvekka Thompson are in custody.

Dew said the two were apprehended in Choctaw County by the U.S Marshall’s Task Force and the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Department.

Both subjects have been both charged with aggravated assault and more charges are pending.

The subjects will be transported and held at the Leake County Jail.


3-19: Chief Herbert Dew of the Kosciusko Police Department is asking for help from the public in locating two subjects wanted in connection with the Monday evening shooting in Kosciusko.

Chief Dew says on Monday March 19, 2018 at 3:49pm the Kosciusko Police Department received a call of a female being shot in the area of N. Natchez Street and Woodard Lane.

Upon officers arrival they found a 34 year old female shot in the upper left arm. She was transported to Jackson by Medstat Ambulance Service.

There are two suspects being sought in this case.

One is 31 year old B/M Antonio L. Winters of Kosciusko. The second suspect is 22 year old B/F Styvekka Thompson of Ethel. Both suspects are wanted for Aggravated Assault.

The suspects were last seen headed North on N. Natchez Street in a white Chevrolet Tahoe type vehicle.

6:30 pm report

Breezy News had learned of a shooting that took place on Monday afternoon in Kosciusko.

At 3:50 pm Kosciusko Police, MedStat EMS and City Fire responded to a person that had been shot. The caller said that a male and a female in a white Tahoe had shot a female on North Natchez Street near Woodard Park.

Witness’ said the two were last seen traveling north on highway 43.

Kosciusko Police issued a BOLO for the vehicle and notified Attala Deputies for assistance.

Earlier at 3:36 pm Officers were called to a business on the square for a report of an active domestic violence assault involving the same subjects.
