U.S. Magistrate Linda Anderson Monday ordered authorities to keep four suspects in jail who are accused of killing a Choctaw man and setting him on fire in 2017.
Federal murder charges were filed last year against Keyshawn Willis, Keenan Martin, Jerome Steve and Monte Isaac, all Choctaw tribal members.
The four are accused of beating Demetrius Sam to death on Nov. 2 in Neshoba County.
A sworn statement by an FBI agent says Martin, Steve and Willis confessed to beating Sam. It says Sam was then doused with lighter fluid, set on fire and placed in a fire pit.
Morrow says Isaac, in a wheelchair, encouraged the assault.
Attorneys for the men didn’t immediately return messages seeking comment.
