During the stop, passenger Laci Gove-Hovas exited the vehicle and appeared to discard an item. Drugs are bad. No doubt. But that’s kinda playing fast and loose with the phrase “large amount”, aren’t ya? Just saying.

For everyone having a problem with the wording of the article. I believe they were including the amount she obviously has in her system when labeling the headline “a large amount”…. Ive never taken an illegal drug, therefore I’ve never had to be held up to have my mugshot taken. Large amount or not really doesn’t make it legal.

If you knew how dangerous this stuff is , you would understand that this is a large amount, if you need to be negative about the quantity, you need an education ‼️

I’m puzzled at how we are discussing amounts.. when the fact at hand is another mother taken from its child! A child from her mother.. the fact that the system we have in place doesn’t fix the problem… no doubt they are horrible at any amount…. it’s sad that the community can’t see the forrest for the trees…I know both parties involved in both sides…… there is not another officer any better than Jacob Edward’s. Doing his job… and laci comes from a family that I know is broken over this… yes the amount may have been made to be something it wasn’t.. but the loss of another person! Ha been under played… I mean every family I know has someone messed up on somthing… ts saddening…. the drug world is a dark place where few have light..

Thank you Voice in the Wilderness. Mental illness with drugs makes a perfect storm. The world is full of hate and anger with very little love left. Laci needs mental health treatment and rehabilitation. Do to pending felony the courts said she could not get the help she needs. I’m praying they reconsider. 2 years she has run amuck. Torn apart her family. We still have faith and know God is in control. “ Be still and know I am God”

I LOVE HOW YOU ADDRESSED THIS TOPIC. AS ADULTS UNNECESSARY NEGATIVITY IS EASY TO ENTERTAIN. THE PICTURE AT HAND THE SYSTEM HAS FAILED US AND SO HAVE WE. PEOPLE BLAME EVERYONE BUT THEMSELVES. SO JUDGEMENTAL TO OTHERS INSTEAD OF HELPING AND LOVING ONE ANOTHER. IT COULD BE US IN 5 HOURS GIVEN THE CIRCUMSTANCES. I LOVE EVERYONE IN THIS GROUP IF NO ONE HAS TOLD YOU TODAY.

It breaks my heart to see people younger than me that have made bad decisions and allowed drugs become their coping mechanism. All it takes is ONE TIME and you can become addicted. So before “trying” it or saying to yourself “I’m only gonna do it one time” take a look at Lacy. She at one time thought that too. Sending prayers for all of her family that has to endure this every single day with her. I know how hard it is to watch a family member throw their life away for drugs. Sadly, they lost their life and now the parents, siblings and family are left here without them.

Yes so very terribly sad I agree Evelyn. It is very heart breaking to see the terrible effects in so many families where lives have simply been ruined because of the easy access to terrible drugs here in our county and in other counties near ours that has now gone on for years. Courts and Judges everywhere not just our area and county are overwhelmed and way filled up in so many different cases and case types by terrible consequences of drug use, addicts and the effects of the same. Prisons all over this State and Country are overcrowded with a majority of crimes that are drug related or the consequences of illegal drug use. Some areas in other MS counties where these same drugs found here in our county continuously by law enforcement agencies through the years now where these drugs have originated from in those counties are now known to have undercover federal and military officers involved even to my understanding presently. This is a nation-wide and world-wide problem and certainly Lucifer’s hand is in this entire web that is his own design to destroy people and families everywhere. Everybody knows somebody that has been affected in a heart-breaking terrible way it seems. I was stunned to watch on a streamed tv documentary that predated the onset of the Covid pandemic that I just saw recently where details were given about how fentanyl has been created in labs in China for a while now and has been shipped here to the U.S. and to Mexico as well …where then drugs are laced and sent back to and throughout the U.S. laced with fentanyl. I haven’t researched the statistics or numbers to quote a number on the death toll but it’s obvious that illegal drugs have been killing Americans as well as people all over this World long before any world-wide Covid pandemic. As is referenced in the Bible the fact that we as Christians fight powers and principalities, we should know that prayer is essential and crucial to helping the victims and law enforcement trying to prevent more victims. Anyone at any level involved with the distribution, sale , use , and even those individuals responsible for trying to stop the worst of these illegal drugs from harming people anywhere in this world in any job capacity or otherwise these days IS A VICTIM whether they realize it or not. Whether it be Heroin, Meth, Cocaine in some form or anything laced with Fetanyl, we are all victims to the consequences that these harmful substances create. Death in my opinion is not even the worse thing you fear for a loved one, family member or friend you know who uses or is an addict. Any user who isn’t an addict if use is continued at some point addiction is going to happen and depending on what drug and how often and how much is used etc. use will create the resulting consequence accordingly where death has happened even with one use or not until many uses. Welcome to the zombie apocalypse. People enslaved at the worst point being young in their early twenties looking older than most people would in their eighties, or people with sunken faces to the point their skull shape shows without being dead or people who have lost most of or all of their teeth, people who shoot needle drugs in their eyeb**** and under their tongues and or between their toes to the point they have lost toes rotted off from such use etc. etc. etc. are the evidence of a life that must be worse than death in so many cases. These are not people who are living life … these are lives that if not helped eventually walk among the living … as though they are dead because they are truly dead inside where God certainly is their only hope and faith in God is their only path to any recovery if they find a way to God. It is every Christian’s responsibility to try to lead a broken and hurting person to a path where they can find God if we are able. I feel deeply blessed by the law enforcement heroes who go above and beyond what their job requires to help affected families and addicts by offering help to get to rehabs and all kinds of help just trying to help all the hurting people affected by these horrible drugs everywhere. We all should read, reference and pray Romans 8:28, Phillipians 4:6 and Matthew 18:19 as well as John 14:14 and James 4:3… together with strong prayer partners in my sincere opinion and never lose faith or lose the belief that our God is still in the miracle-making business. Let’s agree to turn our “Worry into Worship” for the sake of our County, our State, our Nation and this World for all souls regardless of race, color, s**, religion or any other difference we may have as human beings and pray God’s Will in all we say, all we do and all we are. We are lost if we can’t find help for those among us hurting in this war we fight one daily battle at a time. By being anyone’s light in the midst of their darkest moments we become who God created us each to be in that moment. It is my sincere belief that what we do in kindness for others we do it directly for Jesus…. And in sowing seeds of kindness we shall always reap a harvest of blessing. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
