Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest in Attala County

Attala County deputies arrested a man on drug charges following a traffic stop on Highway 12 in front of Daylight Donuts on Sunday, February 23.

According to Investigator Scott Chunn at the Attala County Sheriff’s Office, K-9 Deputy Lucas Smith pulled over a green Ford F-150 driven by James C. Sprouse, also known as “Monkey.”

During the stop, Deputy Smith detected the presence of marijuana, leading to a search of the vehicle.

Authorities discovered 4.5 grams of methamphetamine, 11.8 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Sprouse was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and a traffic violation.

    Might want to check Monkey’s house too. Lots of suspicious activity up there.
