Update: Jackson man arrested in connection with weekend shooting

A Jackson man has been arrested in connection with a weekend shooting in Kosciusko.

Chief of Police Herbert Dew tells Breezy News that 21-year-old Dlonta Dejhour McGee was arrested for for two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The shooting took play Saturday night on Lucas St in Kosciusko near the tennis courts.

Two people were taken to Baptist Attala for treatment and then transported to a Jackson hospital.

The names of the victims has not been released, but Dew did confirm one victim was male and one was female.

 

8/18 – Breezy News has learned of a shooting that has taken place in the city.

The call came in at 9:45 sending officers to the 500 block of Lucus Street. The caller said that two people had been shot.

The victims were transported to Baptist-Attala by private vehicle for treatment. The extent of their injuries are not known at this time.

Attala Sheriff’s Deputies and the K9 Unit were called to assist in the search for the suspect that had fled the area on foot.

At 10:06 pm Attala Communications notified officers that they had a suspect with a weapon at the station wanting to surrender to officers.
