Update: Suspect arrested for purse theft at Kosciusko Walmart

Update: One person has been arrested in connection with a purse stolen at the Kosciusko Walmart.

Investigator Martin Roby said 43-year-old Carlos Lekendrick Evans from Michigan was identified and arrested for the theft of a purse that occurred at Wal-Mart on Saturday, April 6.

Evans was charged with petit larceny.

 

4-18-2019: On Saturday, April 6, 2019, at approximately 10:50AM, officers with the Kosciusko Police Department responded to the Kosciusko Walmart Store for a report of a stolen purse.

The victim stated that when she loaded her items from her grocery basket to her vehicle, she forgot about her purse in the basket.

After leaving the parked location, the victim remembered leaving her purse and went back to get it.  After returning back to where the basket was placed, the purse was gone.

Officers contacted Walmart associates and retrieved video and photos of the person suspected of taking the purse.

The purse was described as a Louis Vuitton valued at $1000.00. Inside the purse was a wallet valued at $300.00.  The victim had multiple credit card, debit cards, a check book and cash.

The suspect is a black male who left the parking lot in a four-door Oldsmobile with a sticker in the bottom section of the rear window.

The Kosciusko Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
